Description:
This interest group gathers people interested in the topic of persistent identifiers applied to the world of biodiversity informatics: which are the most adequate solutions in the different scenarios, how to implement them, publish them, etc.
The organization of the first GBIF course on persistent identifiers is also being done through this group.
The group was originally created to support the GBIF LSID-GUID Task Group (LGTG), and many of its resources can still be found here. The principal objective of the group was to provide recommendations and guidelines on deployment of LSIDs and other GUIDs on the GBIF network with particular reference to the potential role of GBIF as a stable, long term provider of GUID resolution services.
The group image is by Christian Kitazume (Germany), obtained through http:/
