The vision driving the development of the GBIF Nodes Portal Toolkit is to bridge the technological gaps existing within the Nodes community and to optimize data flows between potential regional or thematic providers and the Secretariat.
The purpose of this meeting was to delineate technical solutions for the development of the NPT, as the software requirements have been documented in the NPT SRS (Software Requirements Specification). The following points were addressed during the meeting:
1. Review of the SRS document (v0.2 still under review)
2. Identify technical solutions
3. Assess the fitness for use of the Drupal7/Scratchpads framework
4. Elaborate a development plan
5. Discuss the hosting solutions for the NPT
